Maybe you should! But, at Whole Mind, we want you to know you have options. Medication can be life-saving for people suffering with complicated or unstable mental health conditions. But medications alone will never address some of the underlying factors leading to depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, addiction, and symptoms of trauma/PTSD. Our goal is to help you optimize your mental health so you can thrive – with or without a prescription!

After attending your FREE 15-minute consultation where we’ll confirm we’re a good fit for you, you’ll be invited to schedule a 90-minute intake appointment. Prior to the intake, you’ll receive (in the ChARM client portal) some health history (and other boring administrative forms) that will need to be completed at least 48hrs prior to your first appointment with us. During your first appointment, we’ll have a conversation about where you see yourself presently compared to where you desire to be. We’ll look at factors contributing to your current experience (ex: genetics, health history, nutrition, lifestyle, stressors, etc.) and discuss solutions *together*. It’s often beneficial to get labs (we can help facilitate these at a discount, if needed). We’ll discuss helpful modifications to your current diet and lifestyle, and will likely suggest the temporary addition or subtraction of various supplements in your daily regimen, depending on your specific need. All of this will be written down for you in a customized treatment plan document so you never feel lost.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to say in a general FAQs page, as everyone’s circumstances are unique to them. If you implement our suggestions, however, we can usually help you start feeling better pretty quickly. That said, depending on the severity of your symptoms when you arrive, the long-term healing we strive for can sometimes take a sustained effort, anywhere from 3 to 12 months; certain conditions will require a lifetime approach in order to prevent recurrence, as is often the case with auto-immune conditions. Remembering your mental and physical health goals throughout the process will help keep you motivated!

When taking an integrative/Functional Medicine approach, there’s A LOT to cover! Having access to your health history and current concerns from the beginning will not only allow me to be more efficient with your time during the appointment, but will also give me a better idea of any additional information or clarification I might need in order to get to the root of your symptoms. As for the administrative forms…because laws ‘n’ stuff.

If you are unable to attend an appointment, please make sure to cancel at least 48hrs beforehand. Otherwise, you will be charged for the full session rate or, if you have a package, that session will be forfeited. Rescheduling is an option!
